{"id":463,"date":"2011-06-17T07:54:38","date_gmt":"2011-06-17T12:54:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sharpfocusmedia.com\/noah\/wordpress\/?p=463"},"modified":"2011-06-17T08:06:08","modified_gmt":"2011-06-17T13:06:08","slug":"kauai-2011-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/family.sharpfocusmedia.com\/?p=463","title":{"rendered":"Kaua&#8217;i 2011 &#8211; Day 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The second day after arriving on Kaua&#8217;i, we decided to go on a relatively moderate hike &#8211; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kauaiexplorer.com\/hiking_kauai\/kuilau_hike.php\">Kuilau Ridge Trail<\/a>. \u00a0By moderate, I mean there was only about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/runkeeper.com\/user\/mauiaggie\/activity\/36145374\">650-700 feet of vertical elevation over 2 miles<\/a>. \u00a0Doesn&#8217;t sound like a lot, does it? \u00a0Well, <em>it was<\/em>&#8230;it was almost all uphill in the first half of the hike, with a toddler on my back!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sharpfocusmedia.com\/noah\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Kauai-Day-21.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[463]\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sharpfocusmedia.com\/noah\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Kauai-Day-21.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><em>click on image for a larger version<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The hike was a bit strenuous to us flat-landers, but the views were spectacular.
