{"id":476,"date":"2011-06-17T23:26:56","date_gmt":"2011-06-18T04:26:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sharpfocusmedia.com\/noah\/wordpress\/?p=476"},"modified":"2011-06-18T11:57:55","modified_gmt":"2011-06-18T16:57:55","slug":"kauai-2011-day-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/family.sharpfocusmedia.com\/?p=476","title":{"rendered":"Kaua&#8217;i 2011 &#8211; Day 3-4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Day 3 started with a trip to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaiiweb.com\/kauai\/html\/sites\/kilauea_lighthouse.html\">Kilauea Lighthouse<\/a> on the north shore of Kaua&#8217;i. \u00a0In all our trips here, we&#8217;ve never been able to get in to the lighthouse; we always arrive too late in the day. \u00a0So, on this trip, we wanted to get there in the morning. \u00a0Noah loved it; he rode around on my shoulders and enjoyed the signboards with whales and <a href=\"http:\/\/malamanahonu.org\/\">honu (turtles)<\/a> on them. \u00a0Unfortunately for us, though, the lighthouse was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kilauealighthouse.org\/restoration_project.html\">closed for restoration<\/a>. \u00a0D&#8217;oh! \u00a0Oh well; next time&#8230; \u00a0Noah was tuckered out after so much fun and napped in the car.  That night, we had dinner at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keokisparadise.com\/\">Keoki&#8217;s Paradise<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Poipu,_Hawaii\">Poipu<\/a>, one of our favorites.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sharpfocusmedia.com\/noah\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Kauai-Day-3.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[476]\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sharpfocusmedia.com\/noah\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Kauai-Day-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The next day, we hiked down to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kauaiexplorer.com\/kauai_beaches\/secret_beach.php\">Secret Beach<\/a> and hiked along the beach and lava rocks to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.summitpacificinc.com\/secret-falls.html\">beautiful waterfall<\/a>. \u00a0Then, that evening, we drove to <a href=\"http:\/\/kukuiula.com\/\">Kukui&#8217;ula<\/a> for dinner &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dudedogs.com\/\">Hawaiian hot dogs<\/a>!
