I couldn’t keep this boy out of the bathroom…he kept looking at himself in the mirror saying, “WOW, THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!!” We talked up crazy hair day all week, did a trail run last night to let him adjust to the idea, and it finally paid off. This was the first spirit day that he willingly participated in. Crazy hair day!!! Take a guess at who was totally excited about today and who was having none of it! Wow-parenting is so easy and fun….today was about pushing him a little out of his comfort zone, knowing that it was in a safe environment and that once he gave it a minute, he would actually have fun with it! Sometimes, math lessons with Eli can be very frustrating for this Type A teacher. He sees art in EVERYTHING and it can drive me crazy because it takes twice as long as it should. The 1, which became 11 after borrowing, became a house. The 5 became a fishing pole and the 4 was changed into a triangle. The 7, in the sum, became a battle ship. SPIRIT DAY- FLASHBACK TO THE 80’S!!! Neil’s dream come true!!! According to Noah-this is how the dressed in the 80’s. He’s convinced that everyone wore NASA shirts, so he’s wearing one under his denim jacket- with the color flipped up. We were talking about in the car and Noah said, “they sure dressed stupid back then”. I told him it wasn’t that long ago and he said “ mom-it was nearly 40 years ago!” HOW DID THAT HAPPEN????
