Some progress

We’ve made some progress tonight. The nurses were able to get a significant amount of fluids in Eli. He drank 8oz of liquid and ate a few handfuls of goldfish (he hadn’t eaten or drank anything much in the last 24 hrs – thus the dehydration).

So, we’re hoping for a good night’s sleep and that the Rocephin does what it’s supposed to, to rid him of the infection. He may be in the hospital for a few days, depending on his progress.

Thank you for your prayers.

Not his choice of birthday present

Poor Eli had to go back to the doctor today. His fever and cough have turned to pneumonia.

So, in honor of his birth day, we are now back up at the very same hospital, trying to get some antibiotics and fluids into him. He is very dehydrated and hurting. His veins keep collapsing at each attempt to put an IV in his arm.

We would really appreciate your prayers for him, for his recovery and for his comfort.

Thank you – we’ll keep you posted on his progress.

Early birthday present

The neurologist called us tonight, and all of Eli’s blood work came back normal; there was nothing abnormal. He had spiked a fever over the last couple of days, but it never led to another seizure. So, that was great news (fevers can cause seizures in infants and toddlers…something we didn’t know before).

So, praise God – everything seems to be fine. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers!

Surgery is done

Eli came through the ear surgery just fine. Still waking from the anesthesia (and cranky!). 🙂

Hopefully, this will keep us out of the doctor’s office for a while, and he can get some peaceful rest.
