Back in Texas

We made it back, safe and sound, to Texas this afternoon. It was a much better drive home: Eli slept for the entire trip back (10 hours + 6 hours)! Noah slept some as well. Both boys were awesome on the way back.

Hoping to get the rest of the photos posted from our “photo shoot” on the beach. I’ll set up a gallery with the best of ’em.

Perdido Key, Part 1

We’ve enjoyed the condo/house we’ve been staying at here in Perdido Key, Florida. We have a huge “sandbox” yard in front of the house that Noah has loved playing in:

Eli likes to watch his brother play and dig holes.

This morning, we went to go see the Blue Angels practice; but, unfortunately, the practice got cancelled. We got to see one of the Blue Angels take off and circle around, but he then returned back to the landing strip. No worries, as there was a museum full of airplanes and activities that Noah absolutely loved.

We even got to see Uncle Ben’s airplane he’ll be flying (minus the JATO pack, of course!):

Noah got a backpack with a set of Blue Angels airplanes to take home with him as a souvenir. And, he loved flying them around and landing them on the “aircraft carrier”. It really was an amazing museum (Daddy could have spent hours and hours there…).

Back home for naps this afternoon, and then we’re driving to Destin for dinner (call us crazy!).

Noah gets to hold Eli

Noah is still learning to be gentle with Noah, but he’s getting better day by day.  He loves to hold Eli in his lap and “pet” him.  A crying baby is still unsettling, but we’re trying to help him understand that Eli is OK when he cries.  All in all, Noah is a good big brother who loves spending time with his younger sibling; and, that is priceless!

Twinkies

Amazingly, Noah and Eli were only 7 grams (7 paper clips!) difference in weight when they were born. And, they were less than 1/4″ difference in height (within the margin of error, given that the nurses measure by marking on their bed sheets).

Eli is already trying to one-up his big brother: this morning, he rolled from his stomach to his back. Over-achiever… 🙂

Modern family

Well, for those that don’t know – the day Eli arrived, Noah got quarantined from us due to the stomach flu. Amanda’s parents have been so sweet to watch him, in what was supposed to be 2 days and ended up being almost a week. His fever finally broke on Saturday morning, so we look forward to ending his 48 hour waiting period and seeing him tomorrow. In the meantime, like any modern family, we’ve video-chatted! 🙂

Waiting to be a big brother

We’re all waiting for the arrival of Noah’s younger brother-to-be, Eli. Doctor said it could be anytime now…

Noah is excited about being a big brother, and he’s been practicing being “gentle” with his cousin A.J. He’ll be a good big brother, no doubt.
