Eli did GREAT the entire trip. He kept up with all of us, never complained, and never got cranky. We averaged 10 miles of walking everyday, climbed 31 flights of stairs, and were up early and out late every night. There was one night we didn’t get back to the hotel until 12:45-thank you Wicked!!! This kid did amazing even with a high fever the first couple of days. But day 7, at the end of the day and on the way back to the hotel, he finally had it and fell asleep! I love that he fell asleep smiling and holding his precious Lego set! The poor man next to him was very kind when Eli kept falling on his arm! . “Aunt Mandy, looks it’s Wicked and I’m wearing my Wicked shirt! Can you take my picture?” We asked the kids if there was anything they would like to see or do again on our last day. Emmy, without even having to think about it, said “I want to see Wicked again!” We thought long and hard on a way to make it happen but couldn’t figure out a way logistically to make it work. She was ready and willing to get up early again to go sit in line. #undergroundadvertisement
M&M wold- the kids were like….well….kids in a candy store! They couldn’t believe this 4 story candy world and we couldn’t get over the smell of sugar…it was too much, even for me! A quick visit to the largest Disney store in Europe, on Oxford street. The kids were in awe of the 2 story store and all things Disney. They loved see Cinderella’s carriage. Eli however was less when willing to stand next to Rapunzel, Hannah’s favorite princess, so I could take a picture for her. Emmy was thrilled to stand next to Ariel though! The Lion King display was amazing too!
The kids begged to visit Leister Square Lego store one last time. Eli has picked out a lego (a McLaren like the life size one he saw at Legoland) that he wanted the first time but decided to save him money in case he found a different souvenir he liked better. He talked about this Lego set the entire trip and never found anything else that he liked better. Only problem, he had £10 left of his souvenir money and the Lego set was £12. He kept saying, “maybe I can find £2 on the ground so I can get my set.” He was so excited when I somehow magically found 2 extra pounds and he was able to get his set. #2storylegostore #biggestlegostoreintheworle #soawesome
The first time I visited London, Lola’s made the cupcakes for Harrods and they were AMAZING! Harrods has since started making their own and they are terrible, overpriced and dry. We were so happy to see this stand at one of the underground stations. Of course we made a quick stop for a small cupcake even though we just finished off lunch and a sticky toffee pudding at Ye Old Cheshire Cheese! #alwaysroomforacupcake
One last visit to Ye Old Cheshire Cheese pub for lunch. This time, we were able to order food. Our first visit, we just ordered drinks as the kitchen was running behind and they were taking anymore orders. Eli are more than my dad-the boy loves his fish and chips and Noah once again went with bangers and mash!
The kids loved learning how their Papa once accidentally drove past the barricades, straight up to this spot, 12” away from the gate, at midnight with our pastor! They thought it was hilarious to hear how he had spot lights suddenly flash on him and how he quickly put the car in reverse and drove away as quickly as he could! #hefoundbuckingham #whoops
Eli on the other hand was ready to walk right on in! “Mama, the gate is open and they are letting people in. Can we go?” See those big guns??? We have to have an invitation and we didn’t get one of those!
