Daddy was thoughtful enough to bring Eli’s birthday present up to the hospital. He loves his new teddy bear!
Some progress
We’ve made some progress tonight. The nurses were able to get a significant amount of fluids in Eli. He drank 8oz of liquid and ate a few handfuls of goldfish (he hadn’t eaten or drank anything much in the last 24 hrs – thus the dehydration).
So, we’re hoping for a good night’s sleep and that the Rocephin does what it’s supposed to, to rid him of the infection. He may be in the hospital for a few days, depending on his progress.
Thank you for your prayers.
10 tries later and we finally have an IV in. He’s so dehydrated that his little veins kept blowing out. He’s such a trooper.
Well, we are now at the hospital. Will be spending the night, possibly 2-3 days
And you won breathing treatments and a great case of pneumonia.
And for your birthday, we got you a chest X-ray! I hope you like it. :)
Not his choice of birthday present
Poor Eli had to go back to the doctor today. His fever and cough have turned to pneumonia.
So, in honor of his birth day, we are now back up at the very same hospital, trying to get some antibiotics and fluids into him. He is very dehydrated and hurting. His veins keep collapsing at each attempt to put an IV in his arm.
We would really appreciate your prayers for him, for his recovery and for his comfort.
Thank you – we’ll keep you posted on his progress.
