Noah went for his second appointment with the cranial orthosis (helmet) doctor today. He put a little sock on his head (which looked like an old pilot’s hat), and Noah had his head scanned in 3D! Dad enjoyed the technology. Noah just tried to follow the scanner around, to the dismay of the doctor (stay still!).

The doctor is fairly sure he’ll need a helmet, but we’re waiting until the next appointment in August to make a decision. Good news is that he was not any worse than he was in June; bad news is that he wasn’t any better, either. Please keep him in your prayers as we continue his physical therapy – if it doesn’t keep him out of a helmet, at least it may keep him from needing 2 or more.

The boy has quite the melon, measuring almost 42cm (16.5 inches) around. His head grew almost a centimeter since the last visit 4 weeks ago. To quote a favorite movie: “…it’s like an orange on a toothpick…. That’s a virtual planetoid. Has it’s own weather system!”. 😉

Noah was happy and smiling through it all. The doctor enjoyed playing with him. And, we were grateful he didn’t have a meltdown; he’s such a trooper! Has a genuinely great attitude, this one. 🙂

The nursery is almost there! Amanda and her parents have been working hard on it over the last week, and it is really looking great. A sneak peek…

Noah does love the Bumbo. He’ll sit for quite a while in it and look around and ‘talk’.

He’s slept half the day for the past few days, so we guess he’s going through another growth spurt. Thankfully, he’s sleeping most of the night now.

He really does just have a sweet personality.  We love him!

We can hardly believe that Noah is 3 months old today!  He’s still growing and doing great.  He’s learned to “talk” to us now, and he has extended conversations, usually just before bedtime at night.  He has found his hands, and he loves playing with them and trying to cram his fists into his mouth.  He absolutely loves bath time – it puts him in the funniest mood, and he just splashes and splashes until there is hardly any water left in his tub!  But, maybe best of all, he’s finally sleeping 7-8 hours at night between his last and first feedings.  🙂  It’s definitely been a great first 3 months.

“Active” baby boy doesn’t seem adequate to describe him. Can we harness this energy to mow the yard or something??? 😉

Noah is enjoying his Bumbo seat — he gets to sit up and talk!

Amanda couldn’t resist dressing him up in some Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt she found. And, to top it all off, Noah got a new hat!

Noah went in for his second round of vaccines today, and he did well. He was also weighed and is up to 13lbs 13.5oz now! Ole “thunder thighs” is gonna be in a front-facing car seat in a matter of weeks, at this rate.

Last night, Noah discovered his hands! He’s been enamored with them all day. He loves slobbering all over them and sucking (loudly) on them.

…and, we’re excited about the new portable “pacifiers” that are always on-hand! 🙂
