Emailing updates

Something I’ve been asked about here before is how a person can receive email updates when this blog is updated.  If you would like to receive an email message each time there is an update here, please email me your desired email address to receive the notices at; and, I’ll add you to the list.

Unfortunately (for those more technically-savvy folks among us), RSS feeds are not an option, currently.  Maybe a side-project for me when I have some spare time…  🙂

We have liftoff!

This morning was an adventure…

Noah took his first full bath (not a sponge bath).  Thanks, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Adam for his great little whale bathtub!  🙂

Noah decided we were lacking in the creativity department during the bath, so he made a little fountain for us!  His bathwater, now contaminated, had to be flushed out while Amanda held the soaking wet baby over the kitchen sink.  [Seriously, is this starting to sound a little like a scene from Mr. Mom???]

We got him re-bathed and swaddled up in his nice, new swaddling towel.  He started to “hum” a little song, which we thought was precious.  Then, he ended the last measure with a brown note….  Doh!

It was an interesting morning!  🙂

We love this little guywho couldn’t?  😉


He continues to amaze us every day. Amanda and I both looked at Noah the other day, and this set of Bible verses came to mind. I love how The Message phrases the words:

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;

you formed me in my mother’s womb.

I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!

Body and soul, I am marvelously made!

I worship in adoration—what a creation!

You know me inside and out,

you know every bone in my body;

You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,

how I was sculpted from nothing into something.

Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;

all the stages of my life were spread out before you,

The days of my life all prepared

before I’d even lived one day.

Psalm 139:13-16



Verse 14 in the New International Version says “I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”  When a person looks at a child’s little hands, and little feet, and little ears, and nose, and eyes, and …, how could he/she not see order in the universe, something greater than themselves and the world we can see with our eyes?  What an amazing Creator we serve!

Second pediatrician visit

Noah visited his pediatrician for his two-week check-up today, and he got the thumbs-up on everything.  He is healthy and doing well.  He’s even gained a pound over his birth weight, and he’s up to 7 lbs 8 oz now!  (Most babies, we’re told, work to gain back just their birth weight by the first 2 weeks.)

Look out, cousin Remy!  You may have competition for that “Super Chunk” title in a few months!  🙂

The adventures of two young men and a little lady…
