Overachiever

Well, first, Noah decided he was ready to see the world 10 days early (sorry, Mom! — Happy Birthday!!). Then, yesterday, he surprised us by lifting up his head and moving it from side-to-side! He has done this about 5 or 6 times since then, with more control each time. I think he likes his “tummy time” in the sun!  Watch a video of it here.

We’ve updated the pictures more, with new photos of Cousin Leslie and Michael, photos with daddy, tummy time, and what I affectionately call “the little pope“.

Passed out at the hospital

Poor Noah has been poked and prodded all afternoon. First, at the
doctor's office for his first appointment; then, back at the hospital
for follow-up metabolic testing.

Poor little guy! Now, it's time for lunch and a nap…for Noah, too. πŸ™‚

Good first night

Well, everyone had a good first night.  Noah slept well, as did his parents — in a comfortable bed!

Our little boy is doing great, and we’re having a good time with him.  I even changed my first diaper this morning (wasn’t so bad, after all).  πŸ™‚

A yellow-letter day

We thought we’d be discharged today (and, technically, we will be).  But, little Noah’s bilirubin (jaundice) numbers are higher than the peds doctor would like.  So, they’re going to give our little boy a night in the “baby tanning bed” and check him again in the morning.  See, he’s gotta be our child — he likes the warmth of the sun!  πŸ˜‰

We’re staying another night at the hospital; they have given us a complimentary room, so that Amanda can be nearby to feed him at his breaks every 3 hours.

For those that have not seen, I have posted more pictures here.  We’re having a grand time on this new adventure thus far!

Thanks for all the prayers and company,

Neil & Amanda (& Noah)
