I have never been so thankful to say goodbye to a month and hello to a new month. January was HARD for us…3 cases of flu, 3 cases of strep, a sinus infection and Neil went overseas to Australia. While he was gone, I walked in from church that night, to feel my feel go squish on the tile…our house was flooded. Like the majority of the downstairs was covered in water. And not just a little…A LOT!!!! The flapper on the toilet and collapsed in on itself which flooded the bowl and septic system. I have never felt so completely overwhelmed and couldn’t even figure out where to start…I threw a beach towel down to try and start cleaning but it was like putting a bandage on an open heart patient. God prepared my heart before all this and reminded me that I am to be thankful in ALL things…I’m thankful for a little preparation. I’m thankful for family members that dropped everything and helped me suck water for 2 hours. I’m thankful that I had a place to go while Neil was gone because our house was in complete chaos. (Still is-my pantry is sitting on our counters as I type). I’m thankful that we were able to quickly get the new padding and carpet down so we could move back home. I’m thankful that we were able to go a week without seeing our wonderful pediatrician-although we do love her! I’m thankful that Neil is home. I’m thankful that all the flappers in ALL our toilets are now replaced…I don’t ever want to do this again!!!! I’m thankful that January is over and we are starting with a fresh start. #ineverythinggivethanks #hellofebruary #peaceoutjanuary
